New
York, NY, March 16, 2004: Fluid handling
equipment developer and manufacturer, Pharmenta, Inc. will showcase its
new SumpFrē™ radial tank bottom valve at Interphex, 2004. The SumpFrē™ valve totally eliminates the
difficult-to-drain, difficult-to-flush and difficult-to-clean sump found
in varying degrees in all other diaphragm tank bottom valves as a result
of mounting the diaphragm in the valve drain floor.
The
SumpFrē™ valve features a patented diaphragm perimeter seal that
is folded under and anchored tightly on top of a pedestal. The bottom
half of the valve is a single piece of stainless steel, free of seams
and seal joints, that has been machined into a smooth, continuously
declining surface that is totally self draining.
In addition, an optional offset cleaning inlet is positioned to
create a vortex flow that enhances the effectiveness of in-place
cleaning and steam sterilizing agents.
“We
developed this design at the request of an engineering company after
improper cleaning of a tank bottom valve resulted in batch-to-batch
cross-contamination that led to the illness of over ten thousand
people,” said Doug Newberg, President of Pharmenta, Inc.
“The SumpFrē tank bottom valve totally eliminates any sump
or pooling area, thereby maximizing cleanability-in-place and minimizing
the need for manual cleaning intervention.”
The
SumpFrē™ radial tank bottom valve is available now in sizes from
1 inch to 2.5 inches, with other sizes to follow.
